This was the first session of this kind ever organized by the Sokołów Flavour Academy. Bloggers and their kids were invited to the cooking workshop at the Manor House in Wola Suchożebrska. In an informal atmosphere of a garden party, ideal for the invited guests, the participants of the workshop had the chance to find out more about the children's diet and cook together. Daria Ładocha, an expert on children's nutrition, the host of the show “Ugotuj mi mamo” (Cook for me, mummy) on Kuchnia+ channel was a special guest.
The Sokołów Flavour Academy seeks to develop the art of cooking in accordance with the latest trends. The Academy's experts take care of groups with specific dietary requirements. The workshop closing the summer season focused on a balanced and healthy diet for children.
The workshop was attended by bloggers and winners of the contest for a picnic dish, organized by the Sokołów Flavour Academy, along with their children. The session took place in the picturesque park surrounding the Manor House in Wola Suchożebrska. To start with, the guests were invited to pay a short visit at the Academy's garden, where vegetables, fruit and herbs are grown. The children were allowed to pick bell peppers, tomatoes, beans, peppermint and other ingredients, later used to prepare a meal together.
Daria Ładocha, a cooking coach and expert on children's nutrition, focused on the merits. She provided the adult participants of the workshop with quite a bit of 'food for thought'. They found out more about facts and old wives' tales concerning children's nutrition and tried to find answers to questions i.a. about boosting the immune system by proper nutrition, nutrition during an illness and the best sources of energy for very young children. Daria Ładocha also convinced the participants how important it is to encourage the children to get to know new flavours and how harmful it is to combine eating with emotions. The workshop also provided a perfect opportunity for the parents to share their experiences. One of the items on the children's 'agenda' was the puns about cooking, run by Agnieszka Piskała, a dietician and Sokołów's nutrition expert.
Both adults and children were involved in cooking, under the watchful eye of Daria Ładocha and Dominik Moskalenko, Sokołów's master chef. The workshop menu included: white bean and nut spread, sun-dried tomato spread (served with Sokołów Naturrino pâté), salad with Sokołów meat chips, avocado and pomegranate, creamy bell pepper, plum and beef soup and beef tenderloin with vegetables and cashew nuts. After the meal there was time for fun and games in the open air, as well as for individual conversations with the experts.
